Society teaches us we can only be "truly beautiful" if
we look like those waif-like creatures we see in
magazine ads and on television everyday. I disagree. We
need to toss those folks a cheeseburger and tell them to
lighten up.
It's easy to get caught up in the hype we see and hear
every day. Advertisers want us to believe men don't
want 'real' women, but would rather have these
impossible fantasies of what is deemed to be uber sexy
and smokin' hot. I would be lying not only to you, but
also to myself to say there are not some men who do want
this type of woman, but not everyone falls for the hype.
True beauty comes from within and from learning to be
comfortable in your own skin. It doesn't matter if
you're tall, short, fat, or thin. There are more
varieties of people than there are flavors of ice
cream. We're all different and unique. That in itself
is what makes us beautiful. But this philosophy is
something you have to believe in yourself. No one can do
it for you, nor can they simply tell you this and make
you believe it.
I
know it's difficult to wrap your mind around the idea
that we're not all supposed to be 5'9", 120 lbs with
perfect hair, a perfect complexion, perfect
teeth...perfect everything. But I'm here to tell you,
everyone finds fault with something about themselves. We
all dream of perfection, but that's when reality really
hits home. Nobody's perfect.
Our goal should be to strive to be the absolute best we
can be with what we have to work with. Not everyone is
meant to be a size 2, just like not everyone is meant to
be a size 32. We all fall somewhere along a never ending
spectrum. Stop hating yourself for what you're not and
embrace yourself for what you are!
The sexiest quality a woman can have in her repertoire
is confidence. I know some of you may be saying what??
But I can guarantee you, regardless of her size, a woman
who is confident in the way she looks and carries
herself, will demand and garner the attention of more
than one man in the room.
